The Nightmare of Participation, CalArts, Valencia, CA, USA, 2014

For the mid-residency group show some MFA students protested against the school administration as their work. It became too aggressively inclusive a movement without consideration of others’ opinions or the context of others’ works. I changed my original plan for the show and instead placed a quail egg which had a similar pattern to the floor tile that differed in texture and intensity, on the ground during the show.
